Right now I am building a very successful greeting card business that allows people to build and maintain quality relationships with their prospects and current clientele.
I made the decision to go into business as an entrepreneur because of the lessons I have learned from one of my mentors Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, & the Cashflow Quadrant. Robert taught me in his books that the most important thing you can do is go into business and become a business owner and not employee.
So let me share a little more about me, Colin Meunier. I have found that websites and emails really don’t validate trust or relationship building when it comes to getting to know someone well enough before you join them in a business opportunity, so I invite you to call me anytime. I know the secret to successful working partnerships is to create relationships with people who know, like and trust you. Hopefully I can prove all three and become a business and marketing partner with you.
I, Colin Meunier was born in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. I grew up in the city and spent most of my life as a child in St. Albert, a suburb of Edmonton, until I left home at age of 17 to live on my own downtown Edmonton.
Despite the fact that I did grow up in a good home and all, I did not have the best of time growing up. When it came to school I did not have an abundance of friends and seemed like I ended up more enemies and people who really just did not like me for whatever reason. When I reached my teens I turned to the wrong crowd which became just more problematic. From my mid teens to my mid twenties my life consisted of a lot of drugs and alcohol. My life was one big party. I made one bad decision after another. I left high school at the age of 17, when I was told to leave. I never really went to class. I only went to school to meet up with friends to drink alcohol, do drugs and play cards.
When I was 21 years old, in the summer of 1996, I traveled out to Vancouver BC. and found it so beautiful I decided to stay. I moved out to Vancouver island in with winter of 1997 and found an even more beautiful place. In my early 20s I have lived in several places up and down Vancouver island from a small island called Denman and all the way down to Victoria. I moved to Victoria in 1999 and then…
Finally after a series of bad decisions resulted in traumatic events that altered the course of my life in a major way. I guess I just knew that the way I lived was not the way to go, so I tried many times to make a change on my own. I went back to school a couple times to upgrade as an adult. I tried on my own to make positive changes. I even started reading self help books and searching for some spiritual way that would change me. The problem was that the self help stuff and new age spiritual stuff was not the answer. I was told that I could do it on my own and change. The truth and fact is that none of this worked either.
You see, now looking back on all this, I am very thankful for what all has happened to me as it all positioned me for some very important changes that needed to happen in my life and made me the person that I am today. In the summer of 2001 I ended up doing something I never did before. I cried out to God and asked him for some help. To my surprise God did help. I almost never recognized Him reach out with His faithfulness. God is so faithful that He answered my prayer. It was amazing to me how fast he did reach out and take me from the world I was in.
I met a couple Christians who led me to the Lord. Today, it seems that the label Christian does not mean much anymore. Many people say that they are Christians, but they certainly do not practice it. Perhaps you can relate. Let me make one thing clear. Just because, someone goes to church does not make them a Christian. The word Christian actually means Christ like. Being a true Christian is a lifestyle of having a relationship with God and being a doer of what he says.
The first christian was a man who was training me on my new job I got that week, how to knock on doors and sell greeting cards. He had invited me out to a meeting the next Sunday to eat breakfast and talk about God. I had agreed to go not even knowing I was being invited to church. Then that Sunday after Church I sat in a McDonald’s waiting to get picked up to go knock on more doors selling greeting cards. While I sat in the McDonald’s waiting, there was another man sitting at a table next to mine. This man for some reason turned and asked me if I was a believer. I looked at this man strangely and said maybe, a believer of what? He said Jesus. I told him that I did not know. I said I may believe in God but not sure about Jesus. So this man started to tell me who Jesus was and how I needed Jesus as my Lord and savior. Well on this day a seed was planted in me and continued to grow. I soon became a born again Christian and I met the Lord Jesus and gave my heart to Him.
In early 2007 God then called me to something I really did not expect or even have the desire for at all. There was a couple on eldership at the chuch that was called to go plant a church in Montreal. God spoke to me in a dream and show me Montreal. I then started praying more and hearing from God more that I was called to go to Montreal and help support and be a part of the team with a Church plant.
So I then gave away most of what I had in Victoria BC, and picked up life and drove accross Canada to beautiful Montreal Quebec! This move was sure not easy thing to do. I basically had to get up and leave all my wonderful friends and Church family in Victoria, get rid of all my stuff, and then move to a province in Canada where english is a second language. In fact most people in Quebec do not even speak english, they speak french. So I am now learning the french launguage.
Well guess what … The day I arrived in Montreal I also met my future wife! I did not know it at first, however I did meet her. God blessed me first with an awesome friendship with Rachel. We grew a very strong friendship with each other and fell in love. Rachel and I got married two years later in June 2009 and I and am totally grateful and thank the Lord for providing me with such a beautiful and loving wife. Life wth God is an awesome adventure and you never know what He has in plan for you, but you can rest assured that His plans are good for you. There is no better place to be than in the will of God. Now as far as my journey as a professional networker …
In the year 2003 I decided to explore the industry of MLM. Don’t let that word, “MLM” scare you, it stands for Multi-Level or Network Marketing. Network Marketing companies are direct sales companies which pay out a portion of their sales for a product to a distributor. People in MLM make a commission for the retail purchase of products from people who are in a group or downline below them. It is legal and it is one of the greatest industries in the world, when run correctly.
You probably have visions of Amway friends converting you to their way of life. Memories of those dinner parties with a white board and all the circles. Showing the ‘plan’ its called. Where you are ambushed with a slick sales pitch to buy soap? Or maybe you have had been burned by an MLM company?
If you have been burned by MLM, join the club, so have I. You see over the past several years I have been invovled with many different network marketing companies. I was involved with many different companies and never made any substantial amounts of money. In fact I pretty much ran a non profit home based business for several years until I learned exactly how to really succeed in network marketing. Now, don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with MLM, it is just that so many people have also been burned because of all the hype, smoke and mirrors. There are a lot of dishonest people out there, and more so on the Internet. I personally think MLM is wonderful and a most incredible kind of business model to get involved with. This is why I still stuck with until I really learned how to work the business and succeed.
I discovered the power of network marketing and building a business. I had read many books and gone to many seminars. The key and important note here is that I NEVER GAVE UP. You see I discouvered that you only really fail if you give up. So NEVER give up on your dreams and goals.
A very important lesson I learned in this business of Internet marketing and network marketing is that if something is meant to be its up to me, and if something is worth having its going to take some work. If something is going to change it has to be me that changes first. I may have dropped a few programs and started new ones here and there, but I never quit altogether. I knew quiting would never be an option. I counted each mistake I made as a learning experience and knew that I would succeed in the MLM industry sooner or later.
I then started to learn more from my mistakes and learn from other people who were already doing well with promoting MLM programs on the Internet. What I started to notice was that those who were doing well had their own websites, blogs, opt-in lists, and networks of people that they are able to keep in contact with.
I decided that what I needed to do was to start surrounding myself with other successful peple and learn from them. I decided that I needed to really focus on building my contact lists and networks of people and not just treat them as just a contact but as a real person that I can build a relationship with. I make myself avaliable by telephone, skype, and email.
I bought many programs and products that would help me succeed. I became a sponge for information and kept soaking up whatever I could that would teah me how to become successful in marketing online and business a business. I have aquired many mentors in books I read, audios I listen to, people I learned from in seminars, and my sponsors in my programs.
I now currently have many business mentors and teachers that are helping me succeed with a profitable Internet and network marketing business, as well as always seeking new ones. Let me share with you a few my mentors who have helped me the greatest when it comes to having a successful home business.
My first mentor was Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. If you have not yet read the book I highly recommend you do. This book was my starting point in learning financial education, something that just is not taught in the school system. Not only did Robert teach me the importance of financial intelligence, he also taught me how important it is to have a business system when building a profitable home based business.
The next mentors teachers I want to talk about are the ones I am currently working with when it comes to building my primary network marketing business Send Out Cards.
Right now I happen to be enrolled in one of the fastest growing team in Send Out Cards. My sponsor Chuck Pousson, a top successful realtor from Scottsdale Arizona, is a master when it comes to web2.0 Internet Marketing. I have been and continue to learn a great deal of Web2.0 marketing with Chuck. Chuck has been teaching me a lot about how to build a team with Send Out cards.
The next Todd Falcone, the person who introduced Chuck to Send Out Cards and professional network marketing trainer, has been teaching me how to really be successful working the cold market when it comes to building my business. With Todd Falcone I have been learning how to successfully recruit up the ladder of success and enroll true professionals into my business. I learned how to recruit professional realtors into my Send Out Cards business.

The most important lesson I have learned about building a successful home business over the past few years is that success breeds success. When you create little successes in your life and then build off those you will create even more and bigger successes in your life. Also when you associate and surround yourself with other successful people their success will also rub off onto you.
I can not stress enough, the importance of having a good business coach in your life that is willing to take you and teach and empower you, so that you too will achieve the same success.
